43 exhausted but satisfied Collingwood footballers have just walked off Olympic Park Oval after completing the Magpies' annual intra-club match.

With the mercury topping 30 degrees, the game originally slated for four quarters was cut short to keep players primed for next week's JLT Community Series clash against Essendon.

Jamie Elliott starred upon return from injury, while Josh Daicos, Will Hoskin-Elliott and Taylor Adams were among the best at the Holden Centre.

Thousands braved the heat to line the boundary and watch the returns of their favourite Magpies before the start of the season. 

Those who couldn't make it watched online, with viewers of Collingwood Media's live stream stretching from Cairns, to Los Angeles, to Tokyo.
