Maroochydore’s location on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast appeared highly ironic on Tuesday as Collingwood battled heavy rain on day two of its training camp.
The players rose early, potentially to beat the Queensland heat, however were greeted by wet conditions as they completed a boxing and running session.
While many may have been caught off-guard by the wet weather, one man at ease with the conditions was defender Jack Frost.
“I love tropical weather and I love thunderstorms, so I’m actually not opposed to this,” Frost told Collingwood Media.
“I used to live in Queensland for three years when I was a little tacker. It’s been a while but I love Queensland and I love the warm, humid weather… so I can’t complain.”

Not a lot fazes the laid-back Frost, who has played 44 games for Collingwood since debuting in round one, 2013.
However this off-season, the key defender has had to overcome hip surgery.
The set-back meant Frost has started the pre-season on the sidelines, with the hope of returning full training becoming more realistic by the day.
“I haven’t trained fully yet, but I’m hoping to within the next week,” Frost said.
“I guess that was my first goal, to get to full training. During the season, my aim is to play every game again, like I did in my second year.”
Competition is fierce in Collingwood’s young side, with Frost being one of six Magpies in line to reach a 50-game milestone in 2016.
However in defence, it is a pair of premiership heroes who provide his greatest competition for a spot in the best 22.
In addition to the physical aspect of the Magpies training camp in Maroochydore, a number of team-building and leadership exercises have been undertaken by the playing group.
“We’ve done a couple of exercises where we’ve had to pick the team and it’s really hard to do,” Frost explained.
“I’m competing with Ben Reid and Nathan Brown. Browny played every game (in 2015) and Reidy was playing really well too.
“Like I said, I just need to come back from training and work my way in.
“I’m confident I can do that.”
