Areas to improve have been identified and Collingwood is well on their way to preparing to take on another side with its “backs to the wall” in Sydney.
The winless Magpies fly to the Harbour City this week for a Friday night clash with a Swans outfit also looking for its first victory of the season.
Star onballer Adam Treloar believes inconsistencies have hurt the Magpies in early season losses to the Western Bulldogs and Richmond.
“We were just inconsistent throughout the game,” Treloar told co-host Mark Allen on Collingwood Media vodcast 'Sports Galore'.
“Right to the end of the game the effort was there, but the patches when it wasn’t there was what let us down.”
In addition to the incentive of a first win of the season is the mission to avenge Collingwood’s last trip to the SCG.
The Magpies were handed an 80-loss thrashing by the Swans in round one last year. However 12 months on, the Grand Finalists join Collingwood in the lower half of the 2017 AFL ladder.
“(If we) use the ball a bit better going forward and convert our opportunities, it’ll be a massive chance for us this week,” Treloar said.
“The Swannies have their backs against the wall as well. They’re 0-2... It’s going to be a good clash.”
Treloar and Allen turned attention to the lighter issues in sport later in the vodcast as they discussed some of the more impressive man caves of world famous athletes.
