It’s quickly becoming more and more obvious Adam Treloar is nearing a return to Collingwood’s senior team.
And it’s probably a good thing.
Being restricted to the sidelines has cost the star onballer his new phone.
As the Magpies lost a thriller against Sydney in round 20, Treloar’s excitement got the better of him.
“I smashed my phone,” he told Collingwood Media podcast ‘Sports Galore’.
“It was pretty much shattered.”
“And then I went and did a pilates session a week later. It was barely just holding on and it fell on the ground. I had to go spend a lot of money just to get it fixed.”
The message from this anecdote is clear.
Adam Treloar’s belongings cannot handle the stress of a final. And the only way to protect them is to put the man on the field.
From all reports via the man himself, it’s beginning to look more than likely his hamstrings will suitably heal in time to take the field again this season.
“Next week, I know I’ll be pretty much straight into the full swing of things,” he said.
“I’d imagine the week before the finals we’d have a pretty big match simulation in the bye week.
“I’m sure I’ll be involved in that.”
Before he takes the field, Treloar has some serious off-field tasks to attend to. His Noble Park under-12s will on Sunday take on Pakenham Blue in the South East Junior Football League.
He used the latest episode of Sports Galore to brainstorm pre-game pump up speech ideas with co-host Mark Allen.
“This time next week I’ll bring the premiership cup in and my premiership medallion and I’ll tell you what I said.”
