HANGING UP THE BOOTS
Nathan Buckley wore this pair of size 10 and a half adidas 7406’s into battle for the final time in the 2007 Preliminary Final against Geelong at the MCG.
On a night were he gathered 14 kicks, ten marks and five handpasses, Buckley’s relentless running that was an integral part of his career actually caused the base of the left boot to come apart during the third term, requiring some fast attention from training staff.

NATHAN BUCKLEY – COLLINGWOOD LEGEND
As iconic a jumper as they’re has been in AFL history, the number five Collingwood jumper worn by Nathan Buckley in each of his 260 appearances for the Magpies will always be held in high regard.
The 942nd player to represent Collingwood, Buckley donned this version of the black-and-white stripes in his last match for the club, the 2007 Preliminary Final against Geelong at the MCG. A crowd of 98 002 was on hand for an epic encounter and what would be the closing chapter of superb career.

Renowned artist Robert Hannaford has produced a stunning portrait of Collingwood champion Nathan Buckley.
The painting, which saw Buckley present for five sessions and standing for over 18 hours before the legendary artist at his studio at Riverton in country South Australia, will be auctioned at the Nathan Buckley Tribute Dinner at Crown on June 11.
Buckley is the latest in a line of famous Australians to have been captured by the artist knows as 'Alfie'.
Prime Ministers Bob Hawke and Paul Keating, opera singer Dame Joan Sutherland, cricketing legend Sir Donald Bradman and Indigenous leader Dr Lowitja O'Donoghue have all been profiled by Hannaford.
The one-off piece by the Archibald Prize finalist is expected to be highly sought after given the prestige of both the artist and subject.
"Nathan was a great subject for a painting, I found him to be likeable and very intelligent and I hope that this comes through in the portrait as well as his great physical presence." Hannaford said.
