Jaimee Lambert arrived at Collingwood via the Western Bulldogs at the end of the 2017 AFL Women’s season.

It’s fair to say that she has made a major impact in her first 18 months at the Holden Centre.

Lambert played in all seven of the club’s AFL Women’s matches earlier this year, and impressed all with her commitment and hardness.

She collected a team-high 104 disposals, laid 30 tackles and led the Magpies with distinction through the midfield, an effort culminating in three victories in the final four rounds of the season.

Then, switching into VFL Women’s mode, Lambert shone once again.

She played 12 games and kicked 10 goals, and was named in the best players on eight occasions.

Importantly, she was named in the best during both finals matches, including a team-best performance against Hawthorn in the Semi-Final.

Lambert laid an equal season-high 11 tackles against Geelong in the Preliminary Final, to go with her 23 disposals in a losing cause.

She also managed to hit the scoreboard against the Demons in the final round of the home and away season, locking in Collingwood’s minor premiership with three goals out at Casey Fields.

Named in the VFL Women’s Team of the Year, Lambert is a deserving winner of Collingwood’s inaugural VFL Women’s Best-and-Fairest, and will play a key role as the Magpies build their women’s football program in the years to come.
