The Pies have played many games over the Easter weekend over the years.

So, in the lead-up to our big Easter Saturday clash with Greater Western Sydney at the MCG, we've dug into our archive and come up with five great Collingwood Easter wins.

Enjoy!

2011: Collingwood 16.11 (107) def Essendon 11.11 (77) at the MCG
ANZAC Day and Easter Monday coincided, and a crowd of 89,696 turned out to see the Pies and Bombers do battle in their annual blockbuster. Scott Pendlebury took home his second ANZAC Medal after gathering 34 disposals and kicking three goals as Collingwood led from start to finish. Heath Shaw and Leon Davis both finished with 28 touches.

2006: Collingwood 23.15 (153) def North Melbourne 11.10 (76) at Etihad Stadium
The Pies and Roos drew a near-capacity crowd to Docklands for this Easter Monday clash, and the Black and White army was delighted with its team’s barnstorming effort. Chris Tarrant (six goals), Nathan Buckley (25 disposals and a goal), Shane O’Bree (26 disposals), Nick Maxwell (26 disposals and 10 marks) and Dane Swan (22 disposals and two goals) led the way as Collingwood snared a 25-point half time lead, then ran away with the game by piling on 14 goals to six in the second half.

2001: Collingwood 23.15 (153) def Western Bulldogs 12.9 (81) at Etihad Stadium
Chris Tarrant kicked five goals and James Clement booted three as the Magpies ran riot in an Easter Saturday clash at Docklands. In what was a classic game of two halves, Collingwood led by just 10 points at half time, then kicked 14 goals to four following the long break. Chad Rintoul finished with 30 disposals and a goal, while Nathan Buckley racked up 27 touches and booted two goals.

1979: Collingwood 19.18 (132) def Hawthorn 13.24 (102) at Princes Park
The Pies made the most of some remarkably inaccurate kicking for goal from the Hawks to record an impressive Easter Saturday win before a crowd of almost 30,000. Craig Davis was outstanding for Collingwood, tallying 18 disposals and kicking seven goals, while cult-hero forward Rene Kink finished with 23 disposals, 11 marks and one goal.

1971: Collingwood 16.10 (106) def Richmond 10.9 (69)
A crowd of more than 82,000 turned out for an Easter Monday clash between two of the VFL’s biggest clubs. Peter McKenna finished with nine goals, while Barry Price racked up a game-high 36 disposals as the Pies kicked away late and won by 37 points.
