Disruptions due to The White Night Reimaged event
The White Night Reimaged event is being held at various locations throughout the city from 7.00pm on Friday night, as a result, there will be significant road closures in place from 5.30pm for traffic heading in and out of the CBD.
Parts of Wellington Parade and Lansdowne Street will be closed from 5:30pm and after the Collingwood and Essendon match, Brunton Avenue will be closed to traffic in both directions.
Patrons attending either of the events should familiarise themselves with the city’s road closures as they plan their journeys and are encouraged to utilise public transport.
Following the Collingwood and Essendon match, fans are urged to head to Jolimont or Richmond stations and change at Flinders Street or Southern Cross stations for connecting trains if they wish to avoid the expected large crowds in and around the CBD attending the White Night Reimagined event.
Extra trains will be added to the timetable from Richmond Station for Craigieburn passengers after the match. Plan your train journey to the ground using the PTV Journey Planner
Car Parking
Yarra Park will be closed for parking across all Round 23 MCG games.
This extends to parking for disability permit and accredited pass holders. Patrons with mobility issues can be dropped off near the MCG on the corner of Jolimont Terrace and Jolimont St. The Travellers Aid shuttle service has also been extended to begin two hours before gates open, with pick up points near Jolimont Station and Richmond Station.
