Pies midfielder Chris Mayne will be sidelined for at least a month due to the back injury he suffered in last weekend’s win over the Western Bulldogs.
Mayne was back at the club on Tuesday but was walking gingerly.
“In layman’s terms, there’s a couple of small cracks at the base of his spine … quite a painful injury,” Collingwood football manager Geoff Walsh said on the round five episode of Injury Update.
“Pleasingly not a structural issue, but we would still see at this stage that Chris would be on the sidelines for maybe four or five weeks.
“Right now we’re just trying to manage that pain and get him mobile again, but it’s probably a month on the sidelines for Mayney.”
