Pies youngster Will Kelly is edging closer to playing his first game in the VFL as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Kelly suffered the injury while playing in the under-18s last year and was on a restricted program during his first pre-season at the Holden Centre.

But he has been progressing well in recent weeks and is set to make his VFL debut during the first month of the home and away season.

“It's probably a two- or three-week timeframe before we see Will back,” Collingwood’s general manager of football, Geoff Walsh, told Injury Report on Wednesday.
