Ben Crocker is rapt to be playing his first AFL game of the season in Friday night’s huge clash with West Coast at Optus Stadium.
The 22-year-old was part of the Pies' side in seven of their first eight AFL matches in 2018, but he has had to wait for his turn to play at the highest level this year.
After displaying some great form in the VFL over a number of weeks, he now gets his chance to prove himself against one of the best team in the AFL.
“Yeah, very excited,” Crocker told Track Talk after the team’s light training run at Optus Stadium on Thursday evening.
“It’s obviously been a long time in the VFL this year, and I’ve had my challenges, but I’ve been in really good form and I’ve been rewarded … so very excited.”

Crocker is set to spent most of his time in the forward line against the Eagles, and he will go into the match with an attitude of not wanting to put too much pressure on himself.
“I know what I’m in form with, and I’ve just got to bring the simple things, the pressure, and I guess if I do all that everything else will come together,” he said.
