Skipper Jack Hellier and Adam Oxley are confirmed inclusions for Sunday’s trip to Casey Fields.
Both members of the leadership group have had injury-interrupted starts to the VFL season but are set to resume as we approach the halfway mark.
Matthew Scharenberg is also a confirmed starter after a strong comeback game last week. He played just two quarters against Port Melbourne and will look to build towards full match fitness this week.
The makeup of the side beyond that remains shrouded in mystery, as the AFL side finalises its plans for the Queen’s Birthday clash on Monday.
Brayden Sier and Josh Daicos were mentioned as potential replacements for Dayne Beams on the Collingwood engine room against Melbourne. Both are named on the extended bench of the VFL side.
Mason Cox looks set to return on the long weekend but that could still be in either the AFL or VFL side. He will also be made to wait for the cards to fall at the final AFL selection.
The Pies’ match against Casey will be a television game, broadcast live on Channel 7.
