Should Nick triumph in the 2024 NAB Goal of the Year, he will join both his father Peter (1991) and brother Josh (2020) as winners of the award.
Both goals involve incredible running efforts and clinical finishes.
The Round 16 goal against the Gold Coast sees Nick involved in a chain of possessions from the middle of the ground, collecting the ball three separate times before ducking and weaving between opponents before kicking the goal midway through the fourth quarter.
The Round 23 goal sees Daicos win the ball just next to the centre circle, before taking two bounces on the run and then finishing truly after bursting into the forward 50. The midfielder reached 32.4km per hour as his maximum speed on the blistering run in what was a dominant second quarter performance. Daicos gathered 13 disposals and kicked two goals in the second term of the clash, that would ultimately spearhead the Magpies' to a come from behind, one-point win over Brisbane.
The 2024 NAB AFL Goal of the Year winner will receive $50,000 and NAB will donate a further $10,000 to the winning players’ junior footy club.
Voting is now open, with the overall winner determined by a combination of votes from the AFL All-Australian Panel and the public. The winner will be announced at the 2024 Brownlow Medal on Monday, September 23.
