Collingwood Midfielder Nick Daicos has been named as Captain of the AFL Players Association’s ’22 Under 22’ side.
It’s the third time Daicos has been named in the fan voted side, following selections in every year of his three-year career (2022, 2023 and 2024) and is the second successive year he has been named as Captain.
The 21-year-old has been named in the midfield of the side and is the Magpies singular selection for 2024.
The 22 Under 22 team is an initiative by the AFL Players Association, the body representing AFL and AFLW athletes. The final 22 is fan voted, after an initial squad of 40 is picked by the AFLPA’s Player Board.
Daicos has had a strong 2024 and leads Collingwood in several statistical columns heading into the final home and away round of the season.

Since it's inception in 2013, 13 Collingwood players have selected in a 22 Under 22 side, with Nick Daicos and Isaac Quaynor (2021, 2022) the only players selected on multiple occasions.
Last year was the first time a Collingwood player (Daicos) had been selected Captain of the side.
