AN ELECTRIC, exciting and energised Hawthorn has put Collingwood to the sword on a wet MCG, downing the reigning premier 20.13 (133) to 9.13 (67) on Saturday evening.
The result was the Magpies' fourth loss in a row.
Collingwood's inaccuracy through the first half was costly as they entered the long break with one goal from 12 scoring shots, not kicking another till midway through the third quarter.
In his return from injury Dan McStay's forward-line presence was a positive for the Pies as he presented well and marked strongly in the conditions, eventually converting for a major in the final term.
