Collingwood head to Marvel Stadium for the second time in 2024, taking on the Western Bulldogs under Friday night lights.

The Friday night blockbuster is an important one for both sides, with the Magpies currently sitting in seventh spot on the ladder, whilst the Bulldogs sit in 11th spot.

Last time they met

It was the Magpies who prevailed by 12 points the last time the two sides came head-to-head, which was also a Friday night encounter under the roof at Marvel Stadium.

Jamie Elliott booted four goals and Ash Johnson kicked three as the ladder-leading Magpies secured their 14th win of the season.

Nick Daicos and the Bulldogs’ Tom Liberatore both had 11 clearances and 15 contested possessions in a clash remembered for the record-breaking feats of Scott Pendlebury.

Pendlebury overtook St Kilda legend Robert Harvey for the most career disposals in V/AFL history, with a kick off half back to Jeremy Howe. The kick took Pendlebury to 9,657 for his career, surpassing Harvey.

Players to watch

Returning to the side for the time since Round Nine, Jeremy Howe is set to play an important leadership role in the Magpies’ side that includes a host of younger players.

After a consistent start to the season, Darcy Cameron will do battle with All-Australian ruckman Tim English, with the matchup a close watch for all football fans.

Fifty for Frampton

The clash will mark Billy Frampton’s 50th at AFL level. The tall played three games for Port Adelaide after being drafted at Pick 84 in the 2014 National Draft, before moving to cross-town rival the Adelaide Crows at the end of 2020 where he played a further 21.

The Premiership Magpie has since played 25 games in black and white after joining the Club at the end of the 2022 season.

Consecutive Crispy

Jack Crisp will play his 226th consecutive AFL game tomorrow night , equalling current Richmond Senior Coach and former Melbourne player, Adem Yze with the second longest streak in V/AFL history.

Crisp will be 18 games away from the record of 244 consecutive games, set by Melbourne legend Jim Stynes.
