Collingwood’s 2024 VFL leaders have been locked in, with Campbell Lane and Sam Glover taking the reins as Co-Captains.
Both have been leaders within the team over numerous seasons, with Lane a 74-game star having pulled on the black and white since 2016, while Glover has been a stalwart at either end of the ground since arriving in 2019.
They will lead a new-look side with many recruits joining the Pies over the off-season, while there has been some notable movement within the leadership group.
Lane and Glover take over from Lachie Tardrew and Campbell Hustwaite who led the side as Co-Captains from 2021-23.
VFL coach Josh Fraser said that while there is great depth within the leadership ranks in the VFL squad, Lane and Glover had been leading from the front not only this pre-season, but since they arrived at the Club.
"I want to say how excited I am about the density of leadership through our group," Fraser said.
"There's been a couple of guys that have stood out throughout the summer and throughout their time at the Club.
"When you talk about character, when you talk about driving standards, when you talk about connection, these two really typify that.
"It does give me great pleasure to announce that we're going to go with a co-captain model for 2024 and Sam Glover and Laney will be our captains."
The pair will get their first opportunity to skipper the side in Friday's practice match against Port Melbourne at Victoria Park.
The full VFL leadership group will be announced ahead of the side’s Round One clash with Sandringham on Friday March 22.
