Collingwood is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Cashin as the Club’s VFLW Senior Coach ahead of the 2024 season.

Cashin joins the Magpies after time spent with the Western Bulldogs’ VFLW program this year as a backline and opposition analysis coach.

The 33-year-old also served as a forward scout with Geelong’s AFLW program throughout the 2021 season.

In 2022, Cashin experienced ultimate success by coaching Geelong’s amateur women’s side to a premiership in Division One of the AFL Barwon League. That same year, he was named AFL Barwon Women’s Coach of the Year.

Collingwood’s Head of Women’s Football Jess Burger congratulated Cashin on his appointment.

“We’re pleased to welcome Tom to Collingwood,” Burger said.

“Tom has a broad range of experience across all levels of women’s football. With a professional background in education, he brings a passion for development which complements our program.

“He has an outstanding footy IQ and he’ll bring a specific focus on player development amongst this group.

“Today’s appointment of Tom is in line with our Club’s next steps for its AFLW and VFLW programs and reinforces the Club’s commitment to both high-performing women’s programs.

“We know Tom will thrive in his new role and look forward to seeing where he can take this group in 2024.”

Former Collingwood VFLW Coach Chloe McMillan will continue a role with the Club as a full-time Development Coach for the AFL program.

McMillan led the Club’s VFLW program since 2020 and commenced a dual role across both programs last year.

Burger thanked McMillan for her services within the Club’s VFLW program.

“On behalf of the Club, I’d like to thank Chloe for her dedication and commitment to our VFLW program across these past four seasons.
“It was under Chloe’s leadership the team was able to reach Grand Finals in both 2021 and 2023.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for her to continue to develop her coaching with the Club’s AFL program and we wish her all the best with this next chapter at our Club.”

Cashin will officially commence the role in the New Year.
