Collingwood will face North Melbourne and Richmond in its pre-season match simulation and practice match games after the AFL today confirmed its pre-season schedule.
The Kangaroos are set to be the Pies’ first opponents on Wednesday February 21 in a match simulation training between the two clubs at Arden St Oval.
The game will be broadcast on KAYO Sports with the first bounce scheduled for 10:00am, with clubs to determine whether crowds will be permitted at a later date
The match simulation also allows more flexibility than a structured game, with the competing clubs able to agree on alternate formats (e.g six periods rather than four quarters).
The Club will confirm its match simulation training session in conjunction with the Kangaroos in the lead up to the game.
The Pies will then face the Tigers in their AFL Community Series match, with the contest fixtured for Tuesday February 27 at IKON Park.
The Tuesday night game will be broadcast on Fox Footy from 6:40pm. AFL Community Series matches must follow AFL Premiership Season protocols, however a squad of 30 players can be made available.
Both pre-season games will be fans’ first chance to see new recruit Lachie Schultz in Pies colours, as well as 2023 draftees Harry DeMattia and Tew Jiath.
Tickets for the Community Series will go on sale in February with more information to be communicated in January.
