Collingwood has informed Trey Ruscoe, Trent Bianco, Tom Wilson, Arlo Draper and Cooper Murley they will not be offered contracts with the Club for 2024.
Ruscoe and Bianco arrived at Collingwood together in the same draft class through the 2019 AFL National Draft. Earlier in the same year Tom Wilson joined the Club as a Category B Rookie as a former Australian Boomer.
Ruscoe made his AFL debut in Round 13 against North Melbourne in 2020 and went on to play 18 games at AFL level, whilst Bianco debuted a year later in Round 11 against Geelong and went on to make 23 appearances.
Wilson made his debut for the Club in Round nine against Sydney in 2021 and has played eight games and kicked two goals in the Pies’ midfield.
The trio – Ruscoe, Bianco and Wilson – were consistent in the Club’s VFL side this year averaging 21, 24.7, and 11 disposals respectively.
Draper and Murley were selected by the Club in 2021 but are yet to make their AFL debuts. The 20-year-olds have both spent time with Collingwood developing their football craft in the VFL side.
“Decision-making at this time of the year is always tough and we thank each of the players for their contribution to the Collingwood Football Club,” Collingwood GM of Football Graham Wright said.
“Trent, Trey, Tom, Arlo and Cooper have all played an important role in this year’s success and that has not gone unrecognised. We thank them for their dedication to our football program.
“On behalf of everyone at the Club, we wish each player all the very best for their futures and we hope they continue to work towards reaching their football potential.”
