Craig McRae has named his team to take on Carlton in Friday night’s Peter Mac Cup clash at the MCG.

Will Hoskin-Elliot returns to the team, replacing Bobby Hill (Illness).

Defender Oleg Markov will come into the starting 22 for his 16^th match of the season, after starting as the substitute against Port Adelaide.

The three emergencies are Billy Frampton, Ash Johnson and Jack Ginnivan.

Hoskin-Elliot will return under Friday night lights after missing the last two weeks with a fractured hand. The half-forward sustained the injury in Collingwood’s Round 17 clash against the Western Bulldogs and will start as the substitute on Friday night.

Livewire forward Bobby Hill will miss the clash through illness.

When speaking on selecting the final 23, McRae highlighted that the selection committee would focus on a side best suited for Friday night’s clash.

“We’ll pick a team that we think will win on that day, we’re not having an eye for the future just now,” McRae said

“We’ll concentrate on this week, and this week is Carlton and we’ll find the best 23 to take them on..

“We’re a work in progress, we’re not finished. We’ll find little opportunities to play a different mix.”

McRae emphasised the off-field significance of Friday’s night clash as the archrivals play for the Peter Mac Cup.

“It’s the longest one going (Charity Cup in the AFL), 30 years is the relationship with this game and it’s really important to us..

“We don’t lose perspective on how lucky we are. We get to do this (football), this is a hobby. We’re getting paid to play football or coach football and we don’t lose sight of that. We fight for ground balls and people are fighting for lives.

“This is a great chance for us as a football club to represent this cause outside the footy field.”
