That was back in 2007, illustrating just how long it has been since two of the AFL's oldest rivals were last scheduled to face off in both the black and white shorts in the one year.
That might be set to change, according to The Age's Caroline Wilson, who reports Collingwood is likely to face Richmond twice in season 2015.
"In a commercially beneficial draw, the Tigers are also expected to play Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon twice in 2015," Wilson wrote.
Collingwood and Richmond were pitted against each other in the first game of the season for three years in a row in the early 2000s, but have met twice in the one year just once since 2004.
The points were shared in the aforementioned exchanges in '07, with Collingwood recording a 25-point win in round three and the wooden spoon bound Richmond scoring a 20-point upset in round 19.
From that round 19 meeting, only Travis Cloke, Alan Toovey, Dane Swan and Tyson Goldsack are still running around in the Black and White, while Chris Newman, Brett Deledio, Shane Edwards and Nathan Foley are the only Tigers currently plying their trade at Punt Road.
The AFL will release the full 2015 fixture on Thursday 30 October.
