This week, the Collingwood Football Club acknowledges the 2023 National NAIDOC Week.
NAIDOC Week is observed in the first week of July each year and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s culture, history, and achievements.
The week is also an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nation's culture and participate in a diversity of celebrations across the country.
The theme for this year’s NAIDOC Week (July 2 – 9) is ‘For Our Elders’ and calls for recognition and celebration of the vital role Elders have played and continue to play through generations as cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, teachers, survivors, and leaders.
The Collingwood Football Club encourage the Magpie Army to join in the celebration of NAIDOC Week wherever possible.
