They both allocated Carlton captain Chris Judd with five votes, meaning he was a clear best on ground in the eyes of the two leaders.
Carlton dominated the voting, with Chris Yarran (seven), Matthew Kreuzer (four), Brock McLean (three), Andrew Carrazzo (two) and Nick Duigan (two) featuring among the vote getters.
The only Collingwood players who reached a level that earned the nod of the coaches were Jarryd Blair and Dale Thomas who received one vote each.
Blair has now received a vote in three of his past four games including eight against Fremantle last week. It’s apt recognition of his continued improvement over his four seasons at the club as he spends more time as a part of Collingwood’s midfield rotation.
Thomas, too, has been one of the Magpies’ more consistent contributors in recent weeks. He has polled votes in his past two matches and received a perfect 10 in the win over Gold Coast.
Scott Pendlebury maintains his position at the top of the club’s leader board and still sits within touching distance of the overall leader Jobe Watson who is 12 votes ahead on 67.
