In the beginning...
2000
The Magpies met Geelong in round 12 on one of the coldest days in recent memory. Dale Baynes and Brad Smith debuted for the Pies, but neither was to play another game.

Twelve months later, Steinfort was a Magpie and played well in his team's loss to the Cats at Colonial Stadium; Anthony Rocca says g'day to Brad Sholl.

Round 11 - Collingwood 18.13 (121) def. Geelong 14.12 (96)
Simon Prestigiacomo cops a Powerade shower after playing his 150th game.
Rhyce Shaw's had his mindblown by Alan Didak who kicked five goals in the round 11 win.
2006
Round 8 - Collingwood 22.14 (146) def. Geelong 6.8 (44)
Dane Swan cut the Cats to ribbons with four goals; Shane O'Bree salutes his late grandfather after kicking a goal in the second quarter.
2007
Round 15 - Geelong 11.14 (80) def. Collingwood 9.10 (64)
Preliminary Final - Geelong 13.14 (92) def. Collingwood 13.9 (87)
Dale Thomas kept fighting all game long in the round 15 loss in front of 85,000 fans.

The looks on the faces of Simon Prestigiacomo, Tarkyn Lockyer and Heath Shaw say it all. Collingwood was bundled out of the 2009 finals series with a 73-point loss to the Cats.

Dane Swan mirrors Collingwood's fortunes against Geelong in the 2010 home and away season. Beaten to the ball by Darren Milburn in round nine, Swan powers away with the Sherrin in round 19.
Steele Sidebottom can't believe his luck - Collingwood is 43 points up only a few seconds into the second quarter.
Ben Johnson danced around Cameron Ling and drove home Collingwood's seventh goal of the opening quarter as the Magpies romped to Preliminary Final success.
