In their first game under lights this season, Collingwood’s VFL team made it two wins from as many games in a strong performance against Port Melbourne.

It was a fast start from the Pies, kicking seven goals in the first quarter, led by Jakob Ryan (10 disposals) and Reef McInnes (2 goals).

Port Melbourne responded accordingly, kicking five goals to Collingwood's two in the second quarter, with the Pies leading by 10 points at the main break.

Collingwood kicked away in the third quarter, kicking six goals to Port Melbourne’s two.

It was all black and white in the fourth, with the Pies kicking away to win the game by 52 points.

The connection between the AFL and VFL programs is evident. 43 goals have been kicked across the first two rounds of VFL, with an even spread of goal-kickers on both occasions.
