Dear Members,
The period for eligible Members to seek election to the Board of the Collingwood Football Club closed at 5:00pm AEDT on Thursday, November 3.
Current Director Mark Korda advised the Board he will not seek re-election and the Club thanks him for his service to Collingwood.
President Jeff Browne and Directors Barry Carp, Christine Holgate, Paul Licuria, Renee Roberts and Jodie Sizer are not up for election. Jodie and Paul were elected for three years in 2020 while Jeff, Barry, Christine and Renee were elected for three years in 2021.
I can confirm that 11 eligible Members have nominated and as such, with one vacancy, the election will be contested.
The election will be decided by the vote of eligible Members.
A new definition for an Ordinary Member was recently outlined in a communication to Members, enabling the number of eligible voting Members to meaningfully increase to ensure more Collingwood Members can vote at annual elections.
Voting Members are Life Members and those who hold a Legends Membership or Social Club Membership. Members with access to all home games (AFL or AFLW or Netball) are also now eligible to vote along with those who have purchased a Social Club Membership as an add-on to any Club, AFL Club Support or MCC Club Insider Membership. Voting Members must be over 18 years of age.
Voting shall commence at 9:00am AEDT on Friday, November 18 and close at 12:00pm AEDT on Friday, December 9, six days before the 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will be held at 6:00pm AEDT on Thursday, December 15.
This year’s AGM will be a hybrid meeting with the option for Members to attend in-person or join via video link. A Notice of Meeting will be sent to Members on Wednesday 23 November, along with the publication of the Club’s 2022 Annual Report.
CorpVote has been engaged to conduct the election to ensure that candidates and Members are provided with accurate and appropriate information and to ensure that the election process is fair and independent.
