Collingwood advises Mark Korda will complete his three-year term as a Director and will not seek re-election at the upcoming Annual General Meeting to be held in December.
The Collingwood Football Club thanks Mark for his 15 years’ service on the Collingwood Board.
A Board Member since 2007, Mark spent time as a Club Vice-President and he also served as the Club’s President last year.
During his time on the Board, Mark had been the Chair of the Finance and Risk Committee since its inception in 2007 and had served as the Chair of the Investment Committee between 2018 and 2022.
Club President Jeff Browne thanked Mark for his dedication to Collingwood.
“On behalf of everyone at the Club, I thank Mark Korda for his extensive contribution as a long-term Director at Collingwood,” Browne said.
“We wish Mark, his wife Rhonda and their sons Michael, Ryan and Tom all the best and thank them again for their support of the Collingwood Football Club.”
Mark Korda said it had been a privilege to be a Director at Collingwood.
“I have been a lifelong supporter of the Collingwood Football Club and it has been an absolute privilege and honour to serve on the Club Board,” Korda said.
“I hope my deep passion for the Club has served it well. I am proud that Collingwood is in a very good financial position and I look forward to continuing to support the Magpies during what is an exciting time for the Club.”
With Mark completing his three-year term and not standing for re-election, a Director vacancy has opened up and the Collingwood Board is recommending Dan Rosen as a candidate to fill the vacancy due to the professional expertise he would bring to the board table.
A lifelong and passionate Collingwood supporter who has been a Member of the Club for 39 years, it is the view of the current Board that Rosen is a successful businessperson who would bring invaluable experience across governance, commerce, government relations and industry. Rosen is currently the President of Warner Music Australasia having previously served as CEO of Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA).
The Club advises the following key upcoming dates for Members:
- Thursday, October 13: Board nomination instructions and election dates shared with Members.
- Friday, October 14: Opening date for nominations.
- Thursday, November 3: Closing date for nominations.
Last week, President Jeff Browne sent a letter to Members outlining the new Member definition which meaningfully expands the number of Collingwood Members eligible to vote.
Notwithstanding the fact the Board has recommended a candidate, any eligible Member with the appropriate skillset that wishes to nominate for the vacant position, will be able to do so.
