The two clubs lodged their final 22-man teams for the Queen's Birthday on Saturday evening.
Dwyer joins Dane Swan and Luke Ball as the three men added to the side that defeated St Kilda by 86-points at Etihad Stadium last Friday.
They replace Nick Maxwell (calf), Steele Sidebottom (suspension) and Taylor Adams (omitted) from last week's successful 22.
Adams, Brodie Grundy and the uncapped Tim Broomhead are the three emergencies for Monday's match. Of the trio, only Broomhead featured in Saturday's six-point win over the Casey Scorpions in the VFL.
Dwyer has continued to press his claims for senior selection despite having struggled to secure a consistent berth this season, a victim of injury and the club’s burgeoning depth.
Making 21 appearances during his debut campaign last year, Dwyer proved a revelation, his composure across the half forward line enabling him to make a swift transition to the AFL after arriving at the Westpac Centre as a mature-age rookie selection.
However, a succession of minor fitness concerns, allied to the wide array of contenders battling for a place in the forward line has transpired to make opportunities scarce for the 27-year old.
For Melbourne, ex-Magpie Chris Dawes returns in place of the omitted Jimmy Toumpas.
Toumpas, Aidan Riley and Jordie McKenzie are its three emergencies.
