Clutch kings

For the ninth time since round 11, Collingwood held on to win by single digits. For the second time this season, a clutch Jamie Elliott goal clinched the win. While it hasn't been good for our resting heart rates, the Pies have produced heart in mouth finishes time and again this year.

Unwavering belief

Carlton held a 24-point lead at the final break but this Pies side never says die. "The belief in this group is a unique thing," Craig McRae said post-match. "This group is the best I've ever seen at being able to play the minutes and manage the moments."

Nick Daicos among our MVPs

A red-hot favourite to take out the NAB Rising Star award, Daicos has also been put forward as one of the club's three nominees for the AFLPA MVP, alongside Jack Crisp and Jeremy Howe. His form this season has been nothing short of exceptional and he managed 25 disposals, five score involvements and four intercepts on Sunday.

We're not dreaming

From 17th place to a top four finish and a finals double chance... this is really happening. "No one in their wildest dreams would have expected us to make top four," Fly said post-match. "Today's a great day for our footy club."

Defensive pillars

Both Darcy Moore and Brayden Maynard were pivotal. Moore notched up 24 disposals, nine marks and 11 intercepts, while Maynard finished with six score involvements and seven intercepts. He was named coaches' MVP.
