Brodie Grundy
Grundy is unlikely to play consecutive VFL games.
"We hoped he would train with the VFL side this morning but he didn't get there, I'd say he's unlikely to play VFL this weekend."
"I was happy with the minutes he played but he pulled up sore.
"Obviously we don't want that, we want him to be fresh and vibrant and bringing his best energy.
"His knee is fine but he has ankle soreness which we're monitoring.
"We were hoping to get some momentum but he has a real positive outlook and he's looking at what he can do in the short term."
Friday night footy against Melbourne
The Dees are building momentum.
"This is our biggest test for a number of weeks, we are playing the best team in the competition, I feel."
"They have been building over the last few weeks and they are close to full strength from what I can see.
"They are defending the ground really well and we will have to move the footy quicker than Freo did.
"We took a lot of confidence out of the Queen's Birthday win, we ground out the game.
"(In round 13) we didn't kick well early but we started to move the ball bravely in the second half and had a great win.
Finals
Collingwood's finals spot was secured after last week's win but Fly and the playing group remain focused on the remainder of the regular season.
"We took a moment to smell the roses (after qualifying) but as soon as we were back within our four walls it was back to work."
"The boys trained exceptionally well on Tuesday, we are coming ready to play.
"(Friday night) is a chance to see where we're at against the reigning premiers who seem like they're building.
"They say you learn when you're losing but we've been learning when we're winning."
Ash Johnson
Johnson has slotted into the side seamlessly.
"I've spoken about him previously, he looked like he was a long way off playing AFL footy when I first started."
"To see his growth as a young man... he missed 10 weeks with a hamstring injury and he just grew.
"He got stronger and his application to his game grew and now he is playing with confidence."
Big occasion
Third placed Collingwood meets second placed Melbourne under Friday night lights.
"We're fortunate, I've been at other clubs where you just don't get big crowds."
"Every game of ours seems to be a blockbuster..
"We're really grateful to our fans for showing up every week and we hope we can keep putting on a show for them."
