Luke Ball spoke to the media on the eve of his return from a knee reconstruction before Collingwood's final training session of the week on Friday morning.

Ball was quizzed by journalists about his knee, the team's inconsistent form and the AFL's illicit drugs policy.

The 28-year-old admitted that his knee was almost back to normal roughly eight months after he underwent surgery in April last year but said that it was the scar tissue in his hamstring that had held him back in the months since.

Despite the team's up-and-down form in the first seven rounds, Ball said that "traditionally this club has been good when dealing with its fair share of challenges", and believes his teammates are up for the fight against the undefeated Cats.

But will he begin as the substitute on Saturday night?

We'll leave that answer to Ball himself.

"I don't think green is my colour".
