Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has revealed that Jaidyn Stephenson will play a role in helping the team prepare each week while he sits out 10 games through suspension.

Stephenson won't be able to pull on the black and white until week one of the finals.

“We now have a plan for him. Geoff Walsh, Nick Maxwell and Stephenson have sat down and mapped out a plan for him and it includes a few little breathers, but there’s a couple of heavy training blocks in there,” Buckley said on SEN’s Whateley.

“He’s going to help us prepare for our games weekly.”

The club has provided the 20-year-old with the necessary support services to come out the other side with Buckley proud of how he's handled the situation.

“He has received support consistently and strongly from a wide range of areas, his family and friends and the club and he’s handled himself brilliantly,” Buckley said.

“The reality is Jaidyn had already lived through the trauma of the event, of owning up, of the investigation, of the guilt and embarrassment within himself, with his club and only the last part of it was the public understanding of it.”
