Collingwood Football Club thanks Justin Longmuir for his contribution to the club over the past two seasons and wishes him well as senior coach of Fremantle Football Club.
Longmuir arrived at the Holden Centre at the end of 2017 and spent two seasons overseeing the club’s backline and team defence.
In that time Collingwood built one of the most impressive defensive records in the game. In 2019 alone Collingwood conceded the second least points in the competition at an average 71.2 points a match.
Collingwood GM Football Geoff Walsh commended Longmuir for his swift and positive impact on the backline and team defence.
“Justin’s ability to build relationships and communicate with the players and his peers saw him have a quick impact at the club,” Walsh said.
“With his drive and commitment to further educating and bettering himself as a coach, it’s no surprise that he’s taken the next step in accepting a senior coach position.
“We look forward to watching him progress in his career and wish Justin and his family all the best for their new chapter.”
