We went down swinging in a two-point loss to the Crows on Sunday and the contest epitomised the never-say-die attitude the group prides itself on.
"They kept fighting - we know our group will always show that fight and spirit," Steve Symonds said after the match.
"Culturally we are really proud that we always keep fighting.
"We are down in personnel at the moment and we've been battling but we have really good depth in our squad and we're really pleased that the next layer of players coming through have stood up."

The Pies were underdogs heading into the match but looked Adelaide's equal for three quarters on Sunday.
The Crows are sitting comfortably at the top of the ladder and have dropped just one game this season.
"Footy is heartbreaking when you give your all and don't see the rewards," Symonds said.
"The game was full of momentum swings, there were moments where it looked like we were on top of them and other times it looked like the game was getting away from us.
"We are light on in our midfield but the likes of Mikala Cann and Aishling Sheridan have really stepped up.
"Our next tier of players are starting to play some really good footy for us."
