Collingwood will take on wildcard qualifier Sydney on Friday night at Docklands in the second round of the NAB Cup.

The Magpies earned a place in the final eight of the AFL pre-season competition after defeating both Richmond and Carlton in the revamped three-way opening round format, and now face the Swans in a traditional four-quarter battle for a place in the semi-finals.

Sydney smashed the GWS Giants at Blacktown on Saturday night and then went down to the Gold Coast, but progress as one of two 'wildcard qualifier' teams due to its hefty percentage.

Matthew Lappin will coach the rested Magpies this week as part of the club's pre-season coaching rotation policy, after Nathan Buckley took the reins in week one.

The match is scheduled to commence at 7:40pm and will be broadcast on Channel Seven.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster: online ticketmaster.com.au, phone 1300 136 122 or any Ticketmaster outlet.
