Brit Bonnici led by example as acting co-captain in round two, notching up 26 disposals, 10 tackles and seven marks in a best on ground performance.

"I just wanted to make sure I didn't leave anything in the tank," she said after Saturday's 27-point win over St Kilda.

"I would have been disappointed if I walked off the field and I wasn't exhausted - and I can guarantee I am."

She said the team had rallied during a week of adversity, with both co-captains and a number of key contributors sidelined.

"The team wanted to come together and do something special," she said.

"We were able to celebrate all the little wins today and we're rapt with the result.

"Girls come in and out of the side all the time, I can't wait until (Davey, Chiocci and Molloy) are back but I'm so proud of the team we had on the track today."

Bonnici praised debutant Imogen Barnett, who produced a chase-down tackle for the ages in her first AFLW match.

"Barnett is pretty special when she gets going," she said.

"I remember one of the marks she took in the practice match - I can't wait until she puts on a display like that and everyone can see what she's made of.

"She was presenting every single time I looked down the line today."
