Adam Treloar is pain free, ahead of schedule and fiercely determined to return from his hamstring injuries before the end of 2018.
The star midfielder was on the end of one of the rarest injuries imaginable in round 14 when he hurt not one, but both hamstring tendons against Carlton at the MCG.
Surgery followed, but Treloar is determined it won’t mean the end of his season.
“I know if I stay on top of everything, I’ll be back,” he told Collingwood Media podcast ‘Sports Galore’
“I believe in myself.
“I’ll be back in time for finals and hopefully sneak a couple of games in at the end.”

The belief in a return is not blind ambition. General Manager of Football Geoff Walsh declared earlier in the week “there is life in the season for Adam” and a comeback may still be possible.
It will take luck, dedication and unwavering commitment to a rehab plan which has been laid out by the club’s medical staff.
“Fooksy (club physiotherapist Lachlan Fooks) has planned my schedule for the next six weeks,” Treloar said.
“I’m already doing stuff that he thought I wouldn’t be able to do… he thought I was still going to be struggling walking a week post-surgery, but I’m walking fine.
“I can bridge, I can body-weight squat and I can hammy curl on my left side, which is my bad side.
“It’s about diligent and trying to get back.”
Treloar joined the Magpies from the GWS Giants in the off-season of 2016. He was already shaping as a star of the competition, but arrived with question marks surrounding hip injuries and a history of osteitis pubis. These concerns were quickly cast aside when he pulled on the Black and White stripes and became a reliable member of Collingwood’s starting midfield.
“It’s kind of weird for me,” he said on the idea of having to miss games through injury.
“I’ve missed ten games in my career over seven years and I’ve never missed consecutive games.”
“I want to support the guys while I do my best to get back out there.
“I’m just trying to keep a positive attitude.”
Treloar discussed his immediate pain and emotions from the incident itself, as well asa number of other topics as he chatted with Sports Galore co-host Mark Allen.
Other talking points included:
Steele Sidebottom’s milestone (9:20):
“He’ll probably win another best and fairest and be up there in the Brownlow this year. If he doesn’t make All Australian… I will make a stand. He has to (make it). He is just a champion.”
NBA free agency (14:10):
“I shed a tear when that happened. I love LeBron. I love the Lakers. I love when they’re up and about because the NBA is massive. They’re like the Collingwood of the NBA.”
