When Adam Treloar joined Collingwood at the end of 2015, hopes were raised on both sides of the football fence.

Treloar spoke of his hopes of playing in front of big MCG crowds, taking in the noise and atmosphere the rowdy Magpie Army is famous for.

Supporters, meanwhile, anticipated a player that would break lines, bounce his way down the wings and burst inside 50. A match winner, you might say.

Across 48 games, Treloar has done plenty of that, polling 32 Brownlow Medal votes in his first 43 games in Black and White.

But on Wednesday, he put together arguably the most complete, match-winning performance of his career to date. It was recognised by the media pundits that voted him the 2018 ANZAC Day Medallist.

Treloar won 34 disposals (13 kicks, 21 handballs) and used them at 82.4 per cent efficiency. He cleared three stoppages, took three bounces and sent the ball inside 50 eight times.

Better still, he kicked two goals, the first of which was an instant classic.

Treloar and Jack Crisp bounced their way down the Great Southern Stand wing, breaking tackles, lines and Bomber hearts along the way.

Eventually, it was Treloar who put the icing on the cake, kicking truly from 45 metres and evoking the loudest roar of the Magpie Army to that point.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a fine start to 2017, averaging 29.7 disposals and 5.5 tackles in his first four games.

Now, with the ANZAC Day Medal in his keeping, Treloar’s next mission is to help take down Richmond on Sunday.

He can certainly expect to play in front of another big crowd.
