Collingwoodfc.com.au looks at the players who are set to make a difference in season 2015.

Alex Fasolo
The story so far
‘The Fas’ quickly endeared himself to the Magpie Army with some eye-catching efforts in his first two years on the senior list, none more memorable than his five goal performance against Essendon in 2011.

The game has not been as kind to him in recent years, however, for injuries have slowed his progress and restricted him to only 15 games in the past two seasons.

Season 2014 saw Fasolo spend time at half back where his foot skills and decision saw some tout him as a belated replacement for Leon Davis, who was an All-Australian defender in 2011.

The upside
He’s still only 22 years of age and finally appears to have put his foot issues behind him.

Fasolo has missed 22 games in the past two years, owing mostly to the foot problems that originally surfaced in May, 2013.

With injuries out of the frame and a pre-season full of running and match conditioning, we can expect to see Fasolo return to and perhaps even better the sort of form that netted him 28 goals and an average of 15.46 disposals per game in just his second season.

The stat
Fasolo took 23 kick ins during season 2014, leaving him behind only Lachlan Keeffe (96 kick ins), Tyson Goldsack (25) and Clinton Young (24). Considering that he played six games less than any of the aforementioned trio, it could be an indication of where we see Fasolo utilised in 2015.

In a nutshell
It’s the likes of Alex Fasolo who will be the key to a Collingwood renascence in 2015. Now in his fifth year at the club and with 51 games under his belt, a clear run at the pre-season should mean Fasolo is ready to fly.
