Collingwood added six new players to its rookie list for season 2012 at this morning's NAB AFL Rookie Draft.
Lachlan Smith (Murray Bushrangers) and Marley Williams (Claremont) are the newest additions to the list. Trent Stubbs and Daniel Farmer were re-drafted after they were delisted from Collingwood's senior list at the end of 2011.
International Rookie Caolan Mooney (Ireland) and NSW Scholarship defender Michael Hartley (Sydney University) had been nominated by the club as rookie draft selections, but were formally included on the list this morning.

Bio: A lead up forward, but spent time at both ends of the ground for the Murray Bushrangers. Played as a top up player in Collingwood's VFL team in 2011.

Position: Midfield
Bio: Medium sized midfielder. Good one-on-one and is a long left foot kick. Represented WA at the U18 National Championships.

Name: Trent Stubbs
Recruited From: East Coast Eagles/NSW-ACT U18/Collingwood
DOB: 26/3/1992
Height: 187cm
Weight: 78kg
Position: Medium Forward
Draft History: 2010 AFL National Draft 5th round selection (Collingwood) No. 77 overall.
Bio: Played six VFL games for Collingwood in his first season on the senior list in 2011, kicking two goals. Was delisted in October, but has trained with the club ahead of today’s Rookie Draft. Is a medium sized forward who was originally on Hawthorn’s NSW Scholarship program but the Hawks opted not to promote him to their playing list. The Magpies drafted him in with their fifth selection in the 2010 National Draft, but injuries blighted his 2011 campaign.

Position: Medium Forward
Draft History: 2010 AFL National Draft 3rd round selection (Collingwood) No. 46 overall, for on-traded round one compensatory selection (Josh Fraser, Gold Coast)
Bio: Was Collingwood’s second selection in the 2010 National Draft and played 15 games in the VFL last season. Played mainly at half forward and occasionally through the midfield. Kicked 11 goals for the year. Named in the best on three occasions and impressed against Coburg with his leading from half forward. Delisted at the end of the season but was given permission to train with the club ahead of the Rookie Draft.

Bio: A lightning quick 18-year-old from Ireland. Possesses tremendous athleticism and has been earmarked to play in attack. Is the fourth Irishman to be rookied by Collingwood since 2006. Trained with the senior side in Arizona and was signed to the club in 2010.

Height: 196cm
Weight: 78kg
Position: Key Defender
Bio: Tall defender who joined Collingwood’s NSW Scholarship list in 2008 as a 14-year-old. Learnt the game with the Penrith Swans before joining Sydney University. Represented NSW at the 2011 U18 National Championships where he successfully blanketed Greater Western Sydney’s No. 1 draft pick Jonathon Patton. Has a strong basketball background which has enabled him to have stints in the ruck during his junior career. Played in four of the last five games of the VFL season for Collingwood where he impressed as a key defender.
